All the Buzz About the Phase 2 Renovation of the Valley Bee Café
The bees are very excited today because our phase 2 renovation is officially completed as of tomorrow, June 10, 2021! We can’t wait to show it off and for you to buzz over to enjoy it!
Phase 2 has been a labour of love and a dream come true. Back when we opened the Valley Bee Café in 2019, we knew we had something special going on. However, we never knew just how far we’d come in just a short time! Let’s take a look at the past, present, and future of the Valley Bee Café.
The Inspiration Behind the Valley Bee Café
The inspiration for the cafe all began when we took part in Alberta Open Farm Days in 2018. It was the first time we opened our doors to the public and we were overwhelmed by the positive response. We realized that people cared about the bees and our beekeeping business. It inspired us to open our very own cafe so that we could invite people to learn about beekeeping and taste our products year-round. We’re so glad we took the leap of faith to open the Valley Bee Café! Our Agri-tourism cafe allows us to fill the gap between curiosity and awareness, it’s a real treat to have the opportunity to educate through adventure.
Unique Experiences at the Valley Bee Café
Right from the get-go, we offered visitors a unique view into beekeeping. One of the highlights of the cafe is the viewing window which allows visitors to take a peek into the honey extraction facility. Through the window, people can see live honey extraction, equipment maintenance, personal projects coming to life, and more! Owner, Ginette Paradis, says “Most people have never had the opportunity to see into a live beehive or observe live honey extraction and these are some of the things our guests absolutely love when visiting us here.”
Sweet Treats at the Valley Bee Café
We’re thrilled to announce we have a dedicated chef at the Valley Bee Café. She’s revamped the menu with some great new items! One of our favourite sweet treats is our delicious Energy Cakes which pair perfectly with a Honey Latte, Buzzy Matcha or Watino Fog. Kids love love love our long list of flavoured Stingers & Steamers paired with sticky cinnamon rolls or our big servings of ice cream in the summer months. Plus, we can’t forget our specialty grilled cheese sandwiches!
Of course, all of our sweet desserts and drinks feature Paradis Valley Raw Honey. You can also try some of our Bee Pollen in some of the dishes. It’s truly a hive-to-table experience!
Phase 2 Renovations at the Valley Bee Café
Phase 1 renovations at the Valley Bee Café involved an expansion of our cafe seating area. Since then, our busy bees haven’t stopped working to bring you new and exciting experiences to the Valley Bee Café.
Phase 2 of renovations involved the creation of learning and exploration experiences for our guests. Now, when you visit, you’ll find exploration points that bring our generational beekeeping history to life!
Also, we are now classified as an Economusee! These artisans work at locations across Canada offer visitors unique local experiences in which they learn about specialized crafts including beekeeping, winemaking, instrument creation, and more!
Owner, Ginette Paradis is thrilled with the outcome and can’t wait for visitors to come and experience the new adventures at the agri-tourism café. “We invite everyone who craves a transparent view into the world of beekeeping to join our newsletter and find us on Facebook and Instagram, where we share a ton of information on our values, the benefits of raw products, our generational history, and the work we do. We would also be thrilled to see everyone on-site in Watino. Both online and in-person experiences are always buzzing with excitement. Entertainment guaranteed!”
